Grimm Music: Ready or Not by The Fugees

Hey Grimms!

Are you ready for some music therapy?

I’m not sure if any of you have every heard of The Fugees but they’re an American Hip-Hop group from the early 1990’s. Formed by Lauryn Hill, Pras Michel, and Wyclef Jean they created their name from the word “refugee”. There is so much about their music I like but I particularly connect with their songΒ Ready or Not.

I love everything from this song. Honestly as soon as I hear the beginning of the song I’m instantly immersed in it. The song makes me want to fight. Not in the fist out in the way but fight to be heard. Fight to be understood. Fight to achieve something that I’m proud of. Every time I’m in my own head and doubting myself I listen to this song and feel like things are going to be okay. That I just calm down I can find away to make things work.

I guess what you could say I love about this song is that when I listen to this song it seems to combat my feelings of being overwhelmed. What about you? What is your go to song when you are starting to feel bogged down by life?
