GrimmMusic: Libra by Mucc

Hey Grimms!

Welcome to a new type of blog post! Once a month at least I’m hoping to make your day with a song I’m really digging. Either we’ll find out that we both jam to the same song or you’ll be introduced to something you’ve never heard before.

No matter what I hope you enjoy the music!

For our maiden voyage I had to choose Libra by Mucc. This is one of my favorite songs EVER. It’s also the first J- Rock song I ever heard and introduced me to the genre of visual kei.

Mucc

I still remember the first time I heard it. Towards the end of high school we finally got cable and one of the channels we got was IFC. They use to play blocks of music videos (I don’t know if they still do) and one day they played Libra.Β I wish I could have found the official music video on YouTube but unfortunately that was a no go. I did find a fan made video by Metru with the song though.

I was completely blown away by this song. To this day hearing it straight up moves me. I can’t explain it. I don’t speak Japanese myself but somehow this song was still able to steal to me. That’s one of my favorite things about music. When you find a song that is able to bridge everything and still impact you.

That’s what Libra did for me. I have loved MUCC ever since.

Well here’s the song that propelled me into the wonderful world of visual kei! Comment below with what you think!
