I know it’s been a minute since my last post but my pregnancy had gotten a bit rough and I’m having to rest alot. The hope is that with some rest and more iron rich diet I’ll get my hemoglobin levels up and not be at risk for a premature birth/hospital birth/blood transfusion.
I’m really hoping things improve so that I’m still considered a normal pregnancy and can have my home birth. It’s looking good for the baby though even though my levels dropped the baby is still where he/she needs to be so that gives me lots of hope. Fingers crossed everyone!
In the mean time I’ll schedule posts when I can but there will probably be some wait time. I hope you all understand 💛
On the super brightside I hope to introduce you to a new cruelty free brand Maple Holistic. They contacted me a bit ago to let me know about their free sample program (which anyone can do and we’ll get to later) and if I’d be interested in trying a product and writing a review. After double checking that they were NOT owned by a parent company that tests on animals I told them I’d be stoked to see what I thought.
This is a straight up review and not a first impression post so I have been using this product for over a month in order to get a good idea on how I feel it works. I also think it’s important to point out that hair is much like your face when it comes to skincare products.
When you make a sudden switch it takes a minute for you’re body to adjust to it and to see the true results of the product. Which is why I like to give it time before doing a full review.
So let’s get to it!
“Our Natural Tea Tree Oil Shampoo is the hair care solution you’ve been dreaming of! Boasting wonderful therapeutic benefitsthanks to the incredible effects of naturalists tree oil, this shampoo can improve hair and scalp health while promoting hair growth and even slowing hair loss. Suitable for men, women, and children, our Tea Tree Oil is cruelty-free, parabens-free, GMO-free, and gluten free.” -Maple Holistic Website
This can be a deal breaker for some buyers but as far as I know these products are currently only available online. So this isn’t something that you can just pop out to the store if you run out of. That’s kind of the downside of buying any type of product like this online. You really gotta be watchful on when you need to order so you’re not left shampoo-less for a few days!
It also comes in an 8 oz bottle which isn’t bad for the price of $8.95 which it is currently priced at but it seems it’s worth $25.00…
So I say when you order get two so that you always have a back up. Also be looking out for that price. I’d much rather pay the $8.95.
This next thing is kind of weird and I’m not sure it will apply to everyone but it happened so I need to say it! For some reason this shampoo makes my hair more static-y.
Granted currently with where I live it’s winter season so the air is dryer and I’m wearing hats a lot. So I’m not 100% sure if this is due to the weather or the shampoo but it is something both my husband and I noticed within the first week.
I’ll have to see what happens in the summer I guess!
All Maple Holistic products are made in the USA which means the company needs to follow our countries guidelines for safety and pay. Not only do you have the peace of mind of knowing that you’re not hurting animals but people either!
Being able to have peace of mind is a huge pro in my book!
There is some versatility in hair types it works well on. My hair is curly/frizzy and it really helped to bring down the frizz. Especially around this time of year my hair gets completely poof! Not a problem with this shampoo.
My husband has thick straight hair with a touch of a wave that tends to get greasy quicker due to the lack of curl. This shampoo does not aggravate that. His hair looks very healthy after using.
Lastly my daughter is four so she still has that finer more sensitive hair. Once again zero problems. I would love someone with coarse curly hair to try this shampoo to see if they get the same results.
If anyone has or does make sure to comment below!
With all that said having a hair care product that works for multiple hair types in the household is another win. No need to go out and buy everyone something different.
My hair does feel healthier after using this product. Much stronger and I honestly feel like it helped my conditioner absorb better or something bc my hair felt softer a well.
This product also worked well with my colored hair. If you follow me on Twitter, Snapchat, or Instagram then you know I’m pretty religious about my hair coloring routine. Every 6 to 8 weeks (depending on schedule) without fail.
Some shampoos can really strip the color right out of your hair but I did not have this problem with this product. My hair started fading right on schedule in time for my hair appointment.
Certainly a relief… I’ll admit that getting your hair colored at a salon is not an inexpensive purchase so it is important to me that any product I use isn’t speeding up my fading process.
Finally even though it’s only 8 oz I don’t feel like I cruised through this product. The directions say to use it, rinse, and then repeat which I did every single time and I still have product left. Keep in mind that you do not need a HANDFULL of product. Use a quarter size and you’ll be fine.
I’m sure if you have really long hair you’ll need a bit more but I assure you a little goes a long way. There’s no need to get crazy with it.
I will be getting more of this product and I’m excited to try some of their other things. Personally the pros outweigh the cons for me and the cons that did happen were mostly fixable.
I honestly like getting products online. I hate having to go out and about into stores when I can just have it shipped to my door. Especially now being pregnant and needing to stay in bed most of the time.
I admit $25 for 8 oz would be out of my price range but as long as I can get it for $8.95 I’m in!
As far as the static goes I just put a little water on my brush before brushing and problem solved. Not a deal breaker.
The best part is if you’re still on the fence you don’t have to buy it the first time. Just order a free product sample and decide for yourself on whether you want to purchase it for real later on! It’s super easy and saves you the hassle of trying to decided solely off of a review. Just order it for yourself and wait for it to hit your mailbox!

I hope you all enjoyed this review! There will be more to come I assure but like I mentioned above consistency isn’t my goal with my pregnancy being so rocky at the moment.
I’ll be taking it pretty easy for now but I’ll keep you all posted on how the baby and I are doing!
Till next time Grimms ❤
