Manga Mini Haul

Ohiyo!

Well it will be morning for me, who knows when you lot are reading this. Today’s topic is a mini manga haul. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday am I right? Just lounging about reading manga. Sounds like perfection to me!

That’s exactly how I plan to spend my day and on Friday I was lucky enough to stop at my local Barnes & Noble to pick up a few items. Just three more to add to the ever-growing collection. One of these days I should do a behind the scenes type thing where I show you my manga collection, but today it’s just the mini haul.

So on Friday I picked up volumes 1 & 2 of Devils’ Line and volume 10 of Haikyuu. I have actually never heard of Devils’ Line before so I have no idea what to expect with this series. I originally only stopped in at Barnes & Noble to see if they had any more copies of Haikyuu and I just happened to notice the cover of volume 1 of Devils’ Line.

I’m actually a huge fan of supernatural type genres so the artwork along with the title immediately caught my eye.

“Tsukasa, a college student, is rescued from an attack by a devil, one of many vampires that can blend in among the human population. Anzai, her savior, is a half-devil who exploits his supernatural gifts as a member of a shadowy police task force that specializes in devil-related crime in Tokyo. As Anzai continues to keep guard over Tsukasa, the two quickly forge a tentative bond- one that Anzai fears will test his iron-clad rule of never drinking human blood…”

What is not to be interested in after reading the back of that cover! I was practically running to the checkout line. My hopes of this manga are fairly high so fingers crossed that gambling on these two volumes was money well spent.

You all obviously know by now that I am batshit obsessed with Haikyuu. I was first introduced to Haikyuu through the anime though and have only recently picked up the manga. Mostly because waiting for season 4 is gut-wrenchingly horrid. Plus I really want to know what’s coming. So I have been burning through the Haikyuu manga as fast as I can get my hands on them. With this newest addition to the Grimm Manga Fam I’m up to ten glorious volumes.

I’m pretty sure that I’m going to have to order the rest of them but hey, whatever it takes to feed the obsession am I right?

I will eventually do reviews for both of these series but I’d like to finish up some of my other manga reviews I’m currently working on. I’m looking forward to starting Devils’ Line and I’m really, really hoping it’s as good as it sounds to me. On the plus side I know I will enjoy volume 10 of Haikyuu so either way it was well worth the trip to Barnes & Noble.

Comment below with your thoughts on these two series. Have you read either of them before? If so what did you think? If you haven’t read them before do you think you would if given the chance? Enquiring minds want to know!

Finally don’t forget to stop back in tomorrow for Otome Monday!

    • I haven’t officially started it yet but I did flip through it to see the art and I get what you mean. Just on first impressions it seems a bit… bland and basic are the words that come to mind. Which is a bit of a letdown from the cover art. I’m glad to here the story is good though!! That’s the most important part.
