We are back on the Naruto train kids! Please, please, PLEASE! If you have never watched Naruto before and would like to read a spoiler free review go check out my Naruto Season 1 Revisited: Come On! post.
While I will not discuss any spoilers from season 3 I will be discussing things that from seasons 1 and 2, so if you haven’t watched those seasons and would like to without having read spoilers do not read further into this post.
… Seriously stop reading….
Now for the rest of you! If you have seen the first two seasons and are not completely in love with Rock Lee than you are dead to me. I had the same feels this time around at the end of season 2 that I had the very first time I watched this show.
I could not believe the way Gaara injured Rock Lee and when I found out he might not ever be a Shinobi again I just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry for days. After crying for days I wanted to then find that little shit Gaara and knock his teeth loose.
Orochimaru hit my list of all time total jerks as well. Creeping about and giving Sasuke that curse mark but I have to say what surprised me the most was finding out that Kabuto was a total snake in the grass! I have to admit that the first time watching this series I completely fell for his whole older brother act.
He got me good that darn Kabuto.
I felt completely vindicated when Naruto beat Kiba though! All though I totally forgot about the farting incident so that surprised me just as much as it did the first time. I laughed way harder than I care to admit on that one. Seriously I’m 26 years old and fart jokes are still this hilarious to me? Where did I go wrong in my life?
Finally at the end of the episode we were introduced to Jiraiya, who happens to be one of my favorite characters! You’ll all see why as the show progresses. With Jiraiya’s introduction we find ourselves in season three.
Season three it great and starts one of my favorite arcs. Season 3 focuses on the last stage of the Chunin exams and tensions are high. Everyone realizes now that Orochimaru has some sort of plot hatching about and his eyes are set for Sasuke.
The last stage of the Chunin exam has been set up tournament style similarly to the examination in season two but this time they will be observed by the Hokage and other leaders within the Shinobi world along with other Shinobi and villagers. They will also be judged.
Just because you win doesn’t necessarily mean that you will become a Chunin so the stakes are pretty intense. Each of the remaining participates get a month to train along with the knowledge of whom they will fight first. Naruto is paired with Neji who super pissed him off with his fight with Hinata, because of this Naruto is determined to beat him.
Sasuke is paired with Gaara and after Gaara’s fight with Rock Lee everyone is well aware of the type of opponent he is. Kakashi decides to Sasuke under his wing for a month of special training while Naruto through a series of humorous events finds himself training with Jiraiya one of the Legendary Sannin.
However when Orochimaru finally makes his move will everyone’s newfound strength help them to defend the Leaf? When the Hokage is once again called upon to protect his people will he be able to take up the challenge? Season three leaves you on a real cliffhanger!
Two things to really looked forward to is more information on Gaara and Shikimaru. Remember how much I hated Gaara at the end of season two? Will this is the season I begin to forgive him. On top of that this is the season I began to love Shikimaru!
I hope you all enjoyed this review and are ready for more Naruto in the future. Trust me we have a loooooonnnnggg way to go with these reviews!
Comment below with your favorite characters from season 3 of Naruto. Mine have to be Jairiya, Shikimaru, and Naruto. I begin to love Gaara this season but he hasn’t quite hit favorite status yet.
