Five Facts For Fan Favorite Edward!

A promise is a promise…

And I always keep my promises…

Even if I’m really late about it! XD

So sometime ago the great followers of GrimmGirl (AKA YOU) voted on their favorite Cowboy Bebop character and I promised to create a special post on which ever character won the vote. Well this is that post!

The majority of Grimms credit the wonderful Ed as their favorite character ❤ In honor of your love of Ed I have complied five fun Ed facts! Hopefully you’ll come across a few things about Ed you didn’t know.

Number One: Guess What Literary Character Inspired Ed?

Any guesses from the community? Well let me blow your mind. Pippi Longstocking actually inspired the character of Ed. You will notice the shout out to Pippi by the fact that both characters created insanely long names for themselves.

Pippi calls herself Pippilotta Vikualia Rullgardina Krusmynta Efraimsdotter Langstrum while Ed created the name Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV.

edward-upside-downNumber Two: Gender, Gender

While Ed’s name is normally used for boys Ed is in fact a girl. That isn’t the interesting thing though. The interesting thing is that originally Ed was supposed to be a boy! She was later changed to a girl in order to even out the gender ratio between the characters, making it two boys and two girls with Spike, Jet, Faye, and Ed.

Curious as to what Ed’s character would’ve looked like originally? Look no further than session five. The original character design appears during session five stealing an adult magazine (obviously) under his shirt from Annie’s bookstore.

Look out for it next time you’re watching Cowboy Bebop!

Number Three: What’s Your Sign?

If you’re a Capricorn than you share the same sign as Ed! That’s right with Ed’s birthday falling on January 1st she is a Capricorn. Which is really hilarious as Capricorns are considered the more serious members of the zodiac!

Supposedly one of the trademarks of a Capricorn is that they are insanely practical. I don’t know about you but I’m not sure I would consider Ed practical… More like whimsical.

Number Four: AB Positive I love Ed

Ed’s blood type is AB (although I actually don’t know if it’s AB positive or negative… I just like how the bullet read). According to blood types by personality someone with AB blood are spiritual, rational, levelheaded, excel at planning and organizing, over produce hormones (especially adrenaline) causing very high and intense moods.

What do you think? Does that fit Ed’s personality?edward-chess

Number Five: Can You Hear Her Voice?

Ed’s English voice is played by Melissa Fahn whose voice you might also recognize from Digimon Data Squad as Kristy Damon, Noein as Haruka Kaminogi, and Invader Zim as Gaz!

Aoi Tada plays Ed’s Japanese voice while simultaneously perfecting her singing career. You will notice her singing talents if you have ever heard the theme songs for Gunslinger Girl: II Teatrino and Angel Beats!

❤ Hope you all enjoyed the facts!

P.S.

My favorite character is a tie between Spike and Vicious. I just can’t choose between the two.

      1. I’m not finished yet! I fell behind so I have a bit of binging to go before I’m all caught up… but tell me, was it a satisfying ending?!

      2. So good! In fact episode ten’s animation is my favorite animation of the entire series. The artists really out did themselves. There’s one scene in particular that blew my mind. I guarantee you’ll know it when you see it lol. In true Haikyuu style the ending completely leaves you waiting for the next episode. They’re so cruel to only do 10 episodes this season 😭
