Anastasia Beverly Hills (Part Two): Welcome to the Party Brows

Hi all 🙂

Recently I wrote a post reviewing Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade and I wanted to follow up with that by discussing Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and Bro Duo products. If I use a brow pencil I always top it of with powder so it made sense to me to review them together.

Anastasia Beverly Hills describes their Brow Wiz as:

“An award-winning ultra-slim pencil that creates precise, hair-like strokes. Use Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz’s fine tip to spot-fill areas where the brow hair is sparse, and the custom spooley end to blend for a flawless finish… Mimics natural hair, long-wearing, smudge-proof formula, glides on effortlessly.”

The cosmetic company also describes their Brow Powder Duo as:

“A smudge-proof, two-shade brow powder compact that creates the perfect professional brow. Apply Anastasia Hills Brow Powder Du in short, light strokes for a defined look with natural highlights and lowlights. Each pan contains densely packed, fine-milled pigments light and dark hues can be mixed for the ideal brow color.”

Now let’s see if the products live up to their descriptions.

Brow Wiz and Powder Duo
Brow Wiz and Brow Powder Duo

I originally bought Brow Wiz and purchased the Brow Powder Duo to help blend out my brow and to help increase its staying power. So that right there tells you that this “smudge-proof” business isn’t exactly on the money.

Look if you’re hanging out in an air conditioned building or you live in an area with zero humidity and basically perfect weather than yeah, this is going to last. If you’re like me where the weather changes faster than a two-year-old changes their mind, then this isn’t going to be smudge-proof.

In the late fall, winter, and early spring this combination holds up but as soon as summer hits I have to make sure to carry the products with me to touch up half way through the day. Fun fact, I add to my eyebrows so having part of it come off halfway through my day is not something I enjoy.

We also need to talk about the price with these products. The Brow Wiz is going to run you $21 and the Brow Powder Duo are going to run you $23. So combined you’re looking at total of $44. For $44 my brows better be fucking delicious looking all day. I’m not splurging my hard earned money for touchups.

The cons may be real but the pros good heavens! This product is so easy to use! I mentioned in my Welcome to the Party Dip Brow Pomade the Pomade takes some time to get a hang of. This is not the case with the Brow Wiz or the Brow Powder Duo. They are both so user friendly and that is important.

If you are after a very natural look and just want to emphasize your eyes a bit these two together are amazing. Together or apart I feel like they both do a perfect job of creating very natural and flawless looking eyebrows. I’m always impressed by this factor whenever I do chose to use these products.

There is also a great selection of colors to chose from with both of these products. The Brow Wiz comes nine colors while the Brow Powder Duo comes in eleven colors. It’s also really nice that they match up the colors across the board. What I mean by that is that I buy shade Granite in both Brow Wiz and Brow Powder Duo (same with my Dip Brow Pomade), which makes color matching really convenient. I love that!

Hey brows…

Final Thoughts

I’ll admit that I like having my Brow Wiz and Brow Powder Duo on hand. I find that these two are actually quicker to use than my Dip Brow Pomade. So when I’m in a rush these are both a great go to solution. Since I don’t use these two very often though I find that I’m not spending a ton of money on replacing them.

When I was using the Brow Wiz daily I swear I was basically picking up a new one every month. Now that I only use it every once in a while though I couldn’t tell you the last time I replaced it.

So here’s my advice. If you are someone who doesn’t do their brows everyday but wants something for the times you do, I would invest in these products. They’re easy to use, which makes them perfect for anyone.

If you are someone who does they brows very regularly I would go with the Dip Brow Pomade. Since you will use it often you will quickly learn how to work with it and you’ll save money in the long run.

I hope you enjoyed this eyebrow themed review! Please comment below with any suggestions for future posts. I am also including the link to the Anastasia Beverly Hills website for anyone who would like to check out their products for themselves.
