Hola people of the Internet! Today I thought we’d take a look at our eyebrows and discuss Anastasia Beverly Hills and their Dipbrow Pomade. I actually had someone ask me on Snapchat about doing her brows so I thought it would actually make a cool post. Just a reminder that if you have any questions or suggestions for future posts I will be glad to hear you out. You can get a hold of me by commenting below or talking to me on through Snapchat, Instagram, or Twitter.
Anastasia Beverly Hills is known for creating great brows and they have a few products made for brow defining. I’m going to start my series of posts regarding their brow products with their Dipbrow Pomade. They describe this product as:
“An award-winning waterproof, multitasking, and buildable matte pomade that stays put. Apply and blend a small amount of Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW Pomade with an angled brow brush to effortlessly outline, fill, and texturize brows. Long-lasting and smudge-proof. High-pigment formula glides on easily and dries fast. Acts as an all-in-one brow product.”
First con for this product has to be the price. You can purchase Dipbrow Pomade for $18. It’s a little shocking to think of spending $18 on a product that is so tiny. I do think it is worth it though, but you’ll have to wait for my pros to read about that!
Second con is that this specific product requires a light touch. If this is your first time trying to fill in your brows I would recommend starting with a brow pencil or powder. A little goes a long way with this product and you have to blend it in. If you don’t I guarantee you will have some very abrasive brows.
Third con is that it does take some practice to get use to using this product. Again you have to blend and you’re working with an angled brush, which can be challenging for some people. I recommend practicing a bit with this product first before wearing it out. You don’t want to use this for the first time 10 minutes before going out with your friends. You want to make sure you know what you’re doing.
Honestly I really love this product! I basically use it everyday for my brows. In light of this you might think that I go through tons of this stuff since it comes in such a tiny container but you’re wrong. Remember when I said a little goes a long way? I wasn’t joking. The last time I bought one of these was about six months ago and I’m not even close to being out of it.
I use to use brow pencils and I would cruise through those things! This Dipbrow Pomade is cheaper than the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pencil and it lasts longer. I ended up saving money once I made the switch from brow pencil to Dipbrow Pomade. Sigh… I love saving money.
It’s true that it takes some practice to use this product but once you do get the hang of it, it is super easy. I can get my brows done in just a few minutes no problem. Basically you just have to find your groove as far as how much pressure you want to apply when filling in your brows. Once you figure it out it becomes second nature.
Their description wasn’t lying when they described their product as being, “…waterproof, multitasking, and buildable matte pomade that stays put…” I have literally gone swimming with this pomade and it stayed on my brows. Granted I wasn’t rubbing my face or anything like that BUT I was being splashed in the face and I did go underwater so that’s waterproof to me as far as I’m concerned.
This is also a multitasking and buildable product. I use it a lot to create some of my eye looks. Sometimes I use it as eyeliner, sometimes I use it for part of my eye shadow when I want to create a really dark and dramatic eye. The gel of the product is easy to blend with my eye shadow so I have created some pretty fun looks.
It’s smudge proof, dries fast, and is an all in one product just like it is described on their website. On top of that it comes in eleven colors so you have a great chance of finding a shade that looks nature to you. I personally use Granite because I have dark hair so I think it is a good choice for you. If you’re blonde then you might want to look for a lighter shade unless you like the look of very dark brows on you.
Like I mentioned above, I love this product! It lives up to its hype and I think that when used correctly it creates a really nice and natural looking brow. While it is almost twenty bucks a pop I feel like it is worth it in the long run since I don’t feel like I’m replacing it every month.
Plus I never worry about my brows melting off in the hot sun thanks to my sweat. This water/smudge proof formula is no joke. This is a great product to use if you don’t want to have to worry about touching things up midway through your day.
Finally it is versatile so you are able to use it for other things. This adds to my reasons for spending $18 on this little jar of Dipbrow Pomade. I like products that can be used for multiple purposes. It makes me feel like I’m getting my money’s worth.
