Too Faced Bachelorette? Take My Money.

*Since the original publication of this post I have learned that Too Faced is owned by Estee Lauder. Estee Lauder is a company that test their beauty products on animals. To learn more about what this means for Too Faced Costmetics and why I will no longer review their products on GrimmGirl please read Is Too Faced Cruelty Free? Turns Out… Not Exactly

Hi everyone! I bet you are all surprised to see me talking about a lipstick that isn’t a liquid. I break out of my routine every once in a while. I’ll admit that I was pretty surprised to realize that all of my reviews involving lipstick had been some type of liquid lipstick. So it’s about time I switched things up.

Today I will be looking at Too Faced Cosmetics La Matte Lipstick in shade Bachelorette, which is considered a matte watermelon pink. Fun right? Too Faced Cosmetics describes their product as:

“…the most comfortable matte lipstick you’ll ever wear. Innovative high-pigmented formula applies creamy as it warms to the skin, softening into stunningly saturated, non-drying matte color that stays plush and wearable. No-bleed, no-feathering formula is infused with Lotus Flower Extract to soothe and hydrate, leaving lips soft, supple, and beautifully matte. Who says you can’t have it all?”

Those are some pretty high expectations! Let’s see how this La Matte Lipstick holds up after going through the cons and pros.

I’ll be right up front about this first cost. This lipstick is going to run you $22. Let that sink in. I know it’s hard to part with your hard earned dollars and $22 is nothing to sneeze at. With that being said I think once you check out the pros of this lipstick you will feel that you are at least getting your money’s worth.

That’s all I have for cons everyone. What can I say? I am feeling this matte lipstick like no other.

The way it is described is the way that it works. I love one a product lives up to its’ description. It is high-pigmented, applies creamy, is non-drying, and stays nice and wearable. I am amazed by the formula they use to make this lipstick because it really does feel nice on my lips. I was pleased that it didn’t make my lips feel all dry like some matte lipsticks will do.

It is a very pigmented formula. This pink applied to my face like butter. It also stays put very well. Since it isn’t a liquid lipstick it isn’t going to have that exact same staying power, but still it is pretty good. I didn’t feel like I had to reapply every five seconds, just a few times throughout the day like when I finished eating.

It comes in 10 awesome colors. I will be totally honest when I say a part of me really wants to collect them all. Like Pokémon cards, I need them. At the very least I need to get my hands on their shade Maneater, which is this beautiful black plum shade. I’m a sucker for a dark purple!

I’m completely happy with this purchase. Yes, it is a little bit more pricey but I’ll admit I’m willing to pay more for a product that lives up to its’ name. If you use lipstick regularly and want a great matte lipstick I would check out this product for sure. Too Faced has better availability then some of the other products I’ve talked about on GrimmGirl so you can usually find this at your local makeup store. I’d try your local Ulta or Sephora first, but if you don’t live near one of these stores you can always order it from their online store. I’ll provide the link below J
