The Anime Challenge is still going strong with Day (Week) 16: Favorite Animation in an Anime. Talk about a hard frickin’ challenge! Obviously one of my favorite things about anime is the animation and there are certainly a lot of beautiful animation to chose from. However for this challenge I decided I needed to go with Noein. If you are unfamiliar with this anime I’ll give you a brief summary:
“In the near future, a violent battle takes place between the dimension La’cryma (protector of humanity) and the dimension Shangri-La, bent on the annihilation of all space-time. A group known as the Dragon Calvary is dispatched through space and time, searching for the only thing that can stop the invasion: The Dragon’s Torque.
In the present, tweleve-year old Haruka and her friend Yuu, are contemplating running away from home when they meet a member of the Dragon Calvary name Karasu (Crow). He believes that Haruka possesses the Dragon’s Torque and claims to be Yuu from fifteen years in the future…”
Now the first time I watched this was quite a few years ago and the reason I am in love with the animation style of this series is that I distinctly remember being just impressed. I felt like this anime had such a distinct flair to it in my eyes that I hadn’t seen before. I loved the different styles this series used in order to create the feel of this show. Check out this awesome fan made video to get a sense the creators’ animation.
For example the difference between how present you and future Yuu are drawn was so unique to me. In essence they used their drawing styles to create two different worlds; the present and the future. Not to mention the way in which they draw and shot their fights scenes. I would honestly say that this show is very much underrated in it’s sense of beauty. Want another taste of what Noein has to offer? Check out this video below made by another fan J This one shows a fight scene put to music so enjoy the animation!
What about you? What’s some of your favorite animation?
