Blogger in the Spotlight: Anime Girls NYC

Whelp, it’s the first week of June and it wouldn’t be complete without me throwing some love at this month’s Blogger in the Spotlight! I couldn’t think of a better blogger to brag about this month J If you are unaware of the blog Anime Girls NYC than you are in for a treat and if you are aware then you know exactly what I am talking about.

Anime Girls NYC bills itself as, “… A place for Otaku to come together and discuss their love for Anime and Manga.” I personally couldn’t agree more. This site is PACKED with anime and manga as far as the eye can see. Or in this case read. That being said it is time to get into things with three swell reasons you need to go check out Anime Girls NYC as soon as you possibly can!

Reason Number One: Hiii Content

If you are an otaku you will enter this site and have to take a few stabilizing breathes because there is so much to choose from. I’m serious. It’s insane and I respect her hardcore blogging ways so much right meow!

This is such a great site if you’re looking for a new anime to watch or you just want a place to talk about anime you’ve already seen. Not only is she great about having a lot of anime discussions but she is diverse with her manga as well. Plus she’s super approachable and makes a point to interact with the community.

She is also much better than me about keeping up with new anime as it’s being released. Haha I’m terrible at this myself! Case in point you don’t see any Noragami or Erased posts floating around my site, do you? Nope, and you probably want for a while now 😀 Not the case on Anime Girls NYC she’s great about keeping up with what’s new in the community which helps to explain her expansive content.

Reason Number Two: She Makes It Easy

Remember when I said that Anime Girls NYC was the place to go if you were looking for a new anime to watch? Well let me expand even more on that. She keeps a list of anime she is currently watching along with a list of anime she has watched. The great thing about the watched list is that she also includes ratings for them.

It’s easily accessed at the top of her page with just an easy click of a button. Thanks to her I’ve added Parasyte, Tokyo Ghoul, and Owari No Seraph-Nagoya to my “To Watch” List. That being said one of these days we’re going to have a serious discussion with her on why she gave Fairy Tail a 7.5/10 :p

Which reminds me, have I mentioned how approachable she is? I believe I have but I have to say it again because she is the type of blogger who is going to respond back! When I ask her why Fairy Tale got a 7.5 out of 10 she is not only going to respond but she’s going to be really nice about it and not super judgey about the fact I love Fairy Tail. We’re going to have a great conversation, which is what I feel all blogs should be about.

Reason Number Three: That Otaku News

She does update her blog with different things that are going on in the anime/manga scene. For example just today I was creeping through her website (per usual) and read that Laxus from Fairy Tail is getting his own manga spinoff! EHHHHHHH! I did not know that and I’m pumped.

This is exactly why I love following this blog though. Every time I’m on there I check out her update section just to see what’s going on. I think it’s awesome that she puts in the time for her community to keep up with these things.

You want to find a chill spot to talk with other anime and manga lovers? Anime Girls NYC is the blog to check out for you than! I highly recommend you click o the name above and check out her sweet site for yourself.

      1. Same here :). We are fans of anime, why should there be division between us? Anime is more than a genre or series, it’s how friendship is formed XD.

      4. I’m still trying to find a character to choose… I was thinking maybe a character from Kill la Kill? But idk, gah I’m bad at decision making! I was also thinking Celty from Durarara?

      5. Kill la Kill would be nice. Celty is also a good one. You could use her dark powers for eye shadows or black nail paint or lipstick. Whatever you want to do. Lol

      2. Oh really? I try to remain spoiler-free as possible I can. Sometimes, I have the urge to sneak in some excessive information on anime. XD

      3. I always do just to be safe. The first part of my post is usually a summary of the show (spoiler free) and then the second half is usually my reaction to it. Like things I liked or didn’t like so that part always has spoilers.
